High-School Level Tackle Football Club Team for 2020 / 2021

Dear OC High School Football Players,

Just about every sport (e.g. lacrosse, volleyball, baseball, basketball, water polo, swimming) has a “club sport” outlet – this has not been the case for 11-man tackle football – until now.

Think of this no differently than you would think of any other club sport.

As California continues to push back fall sports, we have joined other pockets of high school football players and formed a private club-like atmosphere to play tackle football. We all know that other club sports are being played outside the high school.

What are football players supposed to do?

We are just finishing season #1 of the Winners Circle Champtions League.

We are looking for up to fifty (50) players to form a second season team.

Seniors will be given priority, but there is room for juniors and sophomores, too.

Most of our players are from the Sunset League schools (Newport Harbor, Corona del Mar, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Edison and Los Alamitos) but we accept players from other leagues, too.

For the second season, tryouts will be in February or early March.

Visit this site every now and then for updates. We have also developed social channels (e.g. Twitter and Instagram) to help people follow our progress.

Competition will come from other “clubs” being formed in SoCal, NoCal, San Diego and Arizona.

The Sunset Argonauts Football Club capped off their Winner Circle Champions League season with their fourth win in a row, a 28-14 offensive explosion vs. PTP. As always play-by-play commentator Alex Crawford (Twitter: dr_crawf) and color commentator Howard Croom (Twitter: hcroom562) were on location and made all the calls.
After a slow 0-2 start, The Sunset Argonauts Football Club finished the regular season with three straight wins and is headed into the one-game-format playoff with good momentum.
After a slow start to the season, The Sunset Argonauts Football Club (2-2) have seemed to straighten out the course. Last week’s overtime victory vs. Iron Sharpens Iron was followed up this week with a convincing win (28-0) win over West Coast Islanders. The Sunset Argonauts Football Club and Next Up football teams played each other and Mother Nature on a very windy/dusty Saturday at Winners Circle week #2.
The Sunset Argonauts Football Club stepped onto a barely-finished 100-yard turf “field of dreams” football field on Saturday morning, January 2, 2021. Even the brisk 7:45 a.m. kickoff time did not deter a sold-out crowd (sold out because each player is only allowed four tickets to allow for social distancing among the sidelines) from coming out to cheer what for most was the first live football game they have seen in over 13 months.
