Coach David Robinson (“Coach Rob”) comes to the Sunset Argonauts with over 30 of experience.

Coach Rob has been at just about all levels of play (from high school to the NFL and everything in between).

As a player, Coach Rob played football at Sonora High School in La Habra where he was a tight-end and a linebacker. After high school, he played college football as a tight-end at Fullerton Community College and CSULB.

After college, Coach Rob began his coaching career at St. Anthony High School in Long Beach. This was the beginning of over three decades of gridiron coaching with stops at UC Davis, CSU Northridge, LA Rams, Michigan, USC, and UNLV. Coach Rob is currently at Fullerton College where he coaches the defensive line. Because of COVID-19, the California community college football season has been temporarily suspended.

Coach Rob would like to express his enthusiasm for coaching the Sunset Argonauts Club Team. In his words, “This will be a great opportunity for young men to be able to play football. The goal of the club team is to have fun, work hard, and learn so that we can execute and compete on game day. In doing so, players can be proud of their team and their efforts. I look forward to a safe and successful season.”
