FAQs

Will this affect my son’s CIF eligibility if there is a season later in the spring?

No. On July 20, 2020, in response to the pandemic and postponement of high school youth sports, CIF suspended Bylaws 600-605 for the 2020-2021 calendar year. This allows students to participate in contests for outside teams during the high school season of sport.

UPDATE: CIF reneged on its Bylaws 600-605 ruling for the 2020-2021 calendar year (see original language release above). Now CIF has stated that (January 20th) in order to “avoid being in conflict with the language issued by the Governor’s Office and the CDPH…” that a player cannot play club football in the same season and be eligible to play high school football that same season. Meaning that if high school football becomes a reality this spring, players will have to withdrawal from club football to be eligible. We will do our best to keep all players updated on the rules so there are no surprises.

When will we practice? And Where?

We are just wrapping up season one.

Season two (Winners Circle March Madness) first game is weekend 27th-March.

All interested players should fill out the Request Player Packet / Tryout Form. We will start practicing in late February or early March. A big decision point for high school football will be if the schools are in full pads and practice by March 1, 2021. If not, we can safely assume the high school football season will be cancelled. We’re keeping our eyes on it.

How much time commitment is this?

We will plan on having three practices a week – but this also depends on field availability. It could look something like this:

M-W-F 2pm till 3:30 p.m.

What are the benefits of playing for the Argos Club Team?

Our goal is to provide a platform for your athletes to get exposure. We encourage the filming of practice and will have an on-site recording of all games. This is to provide individuals with performance footage for their scouting tapes.

Who is on the team?

We are promoting this team to graduating class of 2021, first (seniors).

How much is it to play on the team?

All in about $700.00. Scholarships are available for those with financial needs. If there is a playoff system, we’ll charge an additional $100 per game. More information is provided to interested parties that sign up filling out the Request Player Packet / Tryout Form.

Are the player fees refundable if the season gets cancelled

If the season gets cancelled or shortened we will have less expenses and we will refund the fair amount back to the family.

Will you be COVID-19 safe?

Yes, we will comply with state regulations and guidelines.

Will you provide equipment?

No. Players will need their own helmet, shoulder pads and pants. We will provide a top-jersey/uniform only.

Is this the “winners circle” league?

Yes. The Argos Football club is a registered team in The Winners Circle Championship League. This league has been getting a lot of attention (local NBC article here) both good and bad press. Remember, when you are trying to do something in an established system, people are doing to say bad things – our position is that this league needed because the high school football has been unable to get off the ground in California. This is a very needed outlet for the kids.

Who is coaching?

We have exceptional coaches.

How many games will we play and where will they be played?

As of now, we assume that there will be at least six games. There is talk of a playoff single-elimination playoff system. The games most likely will be played on Saturday and Sunday at the Winner Circle Facility in Corona.
