Are We Going to Play? This was the eye-catching first sentence in the December 1st CIF Southern Section’s update to principals and athletic directors. You can read the full memo here on their website.
And, while we are still hopeful there will be fall sports played in the spring of 2021, it’s getting harder to imagine.
Yesterday (December 9th) the CIF Southern Section Commissioner did a nice Q/A session – here is the YouTube link. The commissioner tried to answer some tough questions, like “why are so many states able to play football… many of them played in the fall and had their entire season… yet in California we’re not able to play.”
While it’s unclear on what a back-to-play might look like for high school football players, the need is very clear for a club football program.
